A long and winding road? Well here we are again, harder, better, faster, stronger, erm, perhaps not. Well we're definitely longer at least. There's more of this second issue than the first one. There's also much more of it as recently written content (within the last ten months) here too. For this issue there are some welcome additions. The games reviews have now grown enough to get their own sub menu. There's a fantastic interview, courtesy of XiA. We've even brought back ascii toons! There are more pictures included with articles than before. I decided to blow the budget on disk space, so this issue is definitely a hard disk only diskmag. As for the latest batch of old stuff, just when I thought we had cleared out all the cupboards, a hidden folder is rediscovered, with even more unused material which should have been in 'Alive 15'. I think there's a PhD waiting for a keen Psychiatric student, who can chart the relationship between a disordered hard drive directory structure and a disordered mind? Best not go there too deeply, eh! Another note to the interested, there's a couple of very long articles that have still not been used. Maybe for the next time? The year since the initial issue of Mag! has been gentle with me. I've been able to gradually build up a portfolio of articles for this next issue, even allowing for distractions, mild family medical issues, general 'can't be arsed' activity lulls and hot weather (yes, we actually had a summer this year!) I guess that the thought there were going to be more issues was lurking in the background right from the release of issue one. So here we are again.. Of anniversaries and occasions? There's this obscure little coding party in Poland, something about the 20th anniversary of a Jaguar? Deep breath, calm down, stop giggling, this isn't doing you any good. (Ahem!) on a more serious note. It looks like things are 'business as usual' for next year. However, for 2015, there is the prospect of a twenty fifth birthday, for the diskmag that started it all for me. I'm referring to none other than 'Maggie'. Was it that long ago? I guess it was. Now I'd really like to do something to commemorate that special birthday. You can take this as a really really early warning. There are a number of possible ideas loosely floating around. For example, I could carry on like this. Alternatively, some other people might offer to help in order to create something better? A more diverse point of view and some different words in articles would be welcomed generally. If someone wants us to go that bit further in recreating a good old fashioned diskmag, then maybe they can come forward with a new menu shell. I'd certainly appreciate some constructive feedback and fresh ideas from other people. I could well be knocking on certain old time ex-Maggie people's email addresses a bit nearer the time. Anyway, I know 2015 is a long way off, but don't just read this and forget about it, time really has a nasty tendency to fly by.. A note about the cover picture.. We're continuing our obsession with some of the wilder shores of popular news-stand publications. This time around, we took inspiration from the front covers of such *quality* publications as 'Chat' magazine and 'Take a Break'. I strongly suggest you don't search for these online. Eyeballs are rare and precious things, they don't come up with compatible surgical replacements that often! There is also a global shortage of mind bleach as well. Time to go now.. This wasn't going to be a long editorial. I guess you've heard enough from me now. There's a whole new issue waiting for you out there. So get your reading brain in gear, and enjoy! Until the next time. CiH, checking the 5-day weather forecast for Gdansk - 3.11.13 for Mag!
